Commodity Food Programs

The Salida Community Center created The commodity food programs to distributes tons of food to the local and surrounding communities. Available for Seniors and low income residents. Get a large mix of veggies, meat, milk, fruit, grains and more! To nourish the people of Chaffee County by providing food programs and activities and by promoting a safe and sanitary community environment for all ages and cultures.

TEFAP - (The Emergency Food Assistance Program ) provides food for low-come individuals, families, and seniors on a monthly basis. The TEFAP program helps provide food to over 150 households and over 225 people primarily in Chaffee County but some Freemont County and Saguache County Residents.

CSFP - (The Commodity Supplemental Food Program) provides food for low income seniors on a monthly basis. The CSFP is currently provided food to over 120 seniors In Chaffee County.

Necessities - The Colorado Central Humanists works with the center on order to provide families in need of such items as shampoo, soap, deodorant, etc.
